Port Information


Directions for entering harbour:
The port should be approached with caution.

 

From N, pass at least 1 mile W of Orphourous Islet (NO TAG) and Paphos Point, and then head in towards the anchorage or to the harbour entrance leading line.

Approaching from S, either steer for the W extremity of Paphos Point on a line of bearing of 338°, or steer along the alignment (009°) of the following marks:
Beacon (white) (34°45¢×3N 32°24¢×3E).
Paphos Point Light (3Ύ cables N of beacon) (NO TAG).
This alignment also clears W of Moulia Rocks (34°43¢N 32°26¢E) (NO TAG).

Thence from a position about 6 cables SE of the harbour entrance, the track leads NW into the harbour, passing between two light-buoys (lateral) moored off the heads of the harbour breakwaters.

Useful marks:
Light, exhibited from the head of the SW breakwater.
Moulia Rocks Light (34°43¢N 32°26¢E).

Berths:
Concrete pier at the head of the harbour; accommodates vessels up to 18 m in length and 2 m draught. There are depths of about 2×7 m over a small area off the pier head, where vessels of light draught with local knowledge may take shelter, except in SE gales, which cause a considerable swell.
Iron jetty, close W of the pier; length 49 m; depth of 1×8 m at its end.
Floating pier of 60 m long, close W of the jetty.

Repairs: minor repairs carried out

Other facilities: custom house, with a flagstaff 14 m high, at the root of the pier; hospital at Ktima.

Supplies: fuel available from road tanker; fresh provisions; fresh water at the pier.

Communications: Paphos Airport is situated about 9 km SE of the harbour.
