Village of Cyprus - Mallia

A pleasant village which is situated on one of the island's main wine routes. The main activities in the area are grape growing in the vineyards owned by KEO for its winery. Both red and white grape varieties flourish here. You can park in the main square opposite the taverna Platanos.

The Tzami (Mosque) dates from the early 19th century. Like many other villages in Cyprus, before the Turkish invasion of July 1974 it had a mixed population of Christian Greek Cypriots and Muslim Turkish Cypriots and the mosques in the Republic of Cyprus are testament to this. They are kept in good repair by the Cyprus Government.
