2008 - IN BUSINESS Awards


The IN BUSINESS awards, aiming at celebrating leadership and achievement in Cypriot private companies, chose Aeolos Travel as leader in its field. The first prize of the institutional event “IN-BUSINESS AWARDS” was organized by the publication IN-BUSINESS. This distinction was the outcome of a competitive analysis and evaluation of major tourist organizations in Cyprus. It constitutes a proof that Aeolos’ business profile, being a product of many years of hard work, is characterized by a wealth of experience, sense of responsibility, respect to the customer, honesty, trust and social spirit.


2008 - GUINESS BOOK OF RECORDS  - Aeolos has set a World Record!

Together with www.Bookcyprus.com and the Paralimni municipality, Aeolos organized an event which won Cyprus a place in the Guinness Book of World Records! On Sunday June 1st, we unveiled the biggest beach towel in the world, measuring 64.2 meters by 31 meters. It took the efforts of 40 people to lay down the 1,055 kg beast onto the white sands of Fig Tree Bay. After the new record was officially registered by Guinness, the towel was cut into small pieces and sent by mail to every person who took part in the project – including tourists who left their names and addresses.

2007 - TUI SERVICE AWARD

Every year all TUI CE service organizations from all over the world compete for the TUI Service Award. This award is split into 3 categories: (1) Small Destinations, (2) Medium Destinations, (3) Large Destinations. The winners of summer 2007 for the above categories are: Samos, Larnaca and Bulgaria

2007 - EXCELLENCE & EFFICIENCY IN ENVIRONMENTAL REPORTING AWARD

The Annual meeting of the Service and Resident Managers of TUI Central Europe was held on 20 February 2008 in Hanover. The meeting was attended by more than 100 participants representing 70 TUI destinations. During the Conference the “ Excellence and Efficiency in Environmental Reporting 2007 “ Awards were presented to the top 10 destinations. Aeolos Travel, representing Cyprus, ranked 7th, a huge improvement over last year’s ranking at the 79th position. The author of the illustrated Aeolos 2007 report of 53 pages is Marios Ioannides, with the cooperation of his colleague Abi Thatcher, managed to complete and submit this on time. Aeolos Travel received an average rating of 3.44 out of a maximum of 5.00.
